Zespri® Kiwifruit Ma-Haw

The royal Thai d’oeuvres with simple preparation; top-grade pork mixed with variety seasonings and complete flavour placing on the kiwi sliced into bite-size.


  • 2 Zespri® Green Kiwifruit, finely chopped.
  • 5 Zespri® Green Kiwifruit, cut crosswise (approximately 0.5 mm. thick)
  • 20 grams ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon ground roasted peanut
  • 10 grams palm sugar
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 7 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • Red chilli / coriander if desire

Serves: 10

*Ma-haw is an appetizer that is uniquely Thai. It is made of sour fruits cut into bite-size with the stuff as topping.

Zespri® Kiwifruit Ma-Haw


  1. Heat the oil, pour in the garlic, and gradually add the ground pork and chopped Zespri® Green Kiwifruit. Wait until the pork is cooked, add the ground roasted peanut and stir-fry for good scent.

  2. Season with palm sugar and fish sauce; stir-fry all mixtures until they are well mixed.

  3. Turn off the heat and wait until it cools down.

  4. Serve by placing the Ma-Haw* stuff on Zespri® Green Kiwifruit sliced crosswise; garnish the topping with coriander and red chilli sliced obliquely.
